A lot has happened in the EnCoDe Lab this Spring and Summer! Maria graduated Spring 2026 with her Master’s Degree in CS, successfully defending here thesis “Guiding Hands: Designing Instructions for Virtual-Object Gesture Interaction in AR Headsets”. She has accepted a position at Apple! We had a paper published in Advanced Visual Interfaces (AVI 26) on “Using Open-Ended Elicitation to Explore Adults’ Virtual-Object Interaction Preferences in AR Headsets” (Check it out). Alejandro traveled to Venice Italy in June to present the paper! We also had two visiting REU undergraduate students join us this Summer, Ah’laya Birch and Safal Baral.
